Relax, Cancun Beaches Are Still Very Safe For Spring Break

Spring break is the time when college kids get away to recharge their batteries, and it is also a time to pick a destination. Cancun has always been a very popular destination for beach vacations especially those in spring break Haitian-Creole. That is because the beaches are great and there are plenty of places to have a lot of fun. Unfortunately due to the violence in certain regions of the country people have become a little more hesitant when it comes to traveling to Cancun. The good news is that you can relax and book your trip because the city is still very safe.

Cancun’s Hotel Zone

Most of the fun that you will have in Cancun takes place in the hotel zone. This is the island where the resorts and big hotels are located in. This area has always been very safe and it is still very safe today. Most people who live in cities would feel safer here than in their home towns. This area is well taken care of and everything is there to give you the safest vacation that you could have. Every single hotel has bilingual staff that is ready to answer your questions when you have one. If you are staying in the hotel zone pretty much guarantees that you will not even hear about crime.

Center Of The City

The center of the city is where you could find some pickpocket thieves but that is as bad as it usually gets. Provided that you are not displaying your valuables everywhere (no flashy watches or gold chains) you will probably be fine. There are some great spots and restaurants in this part of town so if you want to head there take public transportation or hotel approved taxis. For spring break you should try to stay at the resorts because that is where you will have the most fun so you may not even get a chance to go to city center.

The Violence Is Not Here

Cancun is located in the south of Mexico in the state of Quintana Roo. The violence on the other hand tends to stay in the north of the country closer to the border with the United States. To use the violence in the northern states as a reason not to visit Cancun would be like avoiding San Diego because of the crime rate in Detroit. Towns like Cancun have stayed safe because the city knows that tourism is its lifeline so keeping tourists safe is their main concern. You should always take the same cautious approach you would in a large city, but overall your chances of being a victim of a crime during your spring break in Cancun are very small.
